Joseph Valtellini: A Heart of a Warrior at Lion Fights 7

Posted by:

The past Saturday, Team Ultimate’s Joseph Valtellini had a challenging fight in Las Vegas against Gregory Choplin for Lion Fights 7. This was his first time in Vegas and to be in the co-main event in one of the biggest fight capitols in the world was definitely meaningful. The arena set up was spectacular at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The match was a long fight that went all 5 rounds. In the 1st round, Joe unfortunately got cut over his left eye from an elbow. This would effect him throughout the rest of the fight due to the progressive swelling, but he still kept his composure and fought back. Joe was able to fire back with hard heavy punches and leg kicks, in which he did have his opponent wobbled in the 2nd round. However, his opponent was able to stifle attacks with the clinch and utilize more of his elbows. In the end, Gregory Choplin won a Unanimous Decision.

Despite the results, Joseph fought his heart out pushing through to a decision. You could visibly tell that the cut he received was bothering him throughout the fight as his eye started to swell early on and he still kept fighting back really hard. Even his opponent openly admitted that he was surprised with how strong and tough Joseph was.

We’re all very proud of Joseph’s determination and warrior-like spirit! After this experience, he’ll only come back stronger than ever in his next fight!
