The outcome of the event was outstanding for us! Troy’s fight against Michael Mananquil was during the preliminary slot so it wasn’t broadcasted on television.
Here’s how his fight played out:
It was a close first round with 2 of 3 judges giving me the round. Troy felt stronger than ever. He kept a tight guard to warm up which led to working his jab followed by low kicks, right punches, and left hooks.
The pace turned up even more in the 2nd round. Eventually during an exchange while Troy had his opponent against the ropes, he landed a straight right hand that sent him down. His opponent answered the 8 count, but Troy continued to work on landing opening that he saw on his opponent. All 3 judges gave the round 10-8 for Troy.
Troy opponent came out aggressive and active in the 3rd round, trying to bring momentum back his way. Troy used his jab to keep him at bay while following up with effective well timed attacks, using different weapons to throw off his opponent and defuse certain specific attacks he used throughout the fight. It was a 10-9 round for Troy and a decisive overall victory!
In the co-main event being broadcasted on television, Joseph Valtellini fought the much more experienced Karim Ghajji.
Here’s how their match played out:
Both athletes exchanged strikes in the 1st round. Joseph had the better end with connecting combinations to the body and head and takes the round with a 10-9 score.
Karim tried to push the pace in the start of the 2nd round but Joseph continues to land great combinations to the body and head preventing Karim to gain momentum. Towards the end of the round, Joseph threw a nice right hand that could have been ruled a knockdown. Joseph takes another 10-9 round finishing with knees to the body.
Joseph has a strong 3rd round with more combinations. Later in the round he lands a well-timed spinning back fist that drops Karim on the ground. After getting up for the 10 count, Joseph soon lands a headkick and the ref waives off the fight for a TKO victory!
