The past Saturday June 22nd, Team Ultimate’s Joseph Valtellini competed on the main card of the Glory 9 event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. He has a tough fight against Road To Glory tournament winner Francois Ambang.
Here’s how it played out:
Round 1 had both athletes working their jabs and leg kicks. Ambang delivered some hard shots that Valtellini took and was able to still keep his composure. Valtellini kept working the leg kicks and kept a steady pace throughout the round. It was a tough round to call with equal amounts of significant strikes from both fighters.
Round 2 saw Ambang coming out aggressive but Valtellini was able to keep a strong guard and continue to work the leg kicks. By the half way point, Ambang started slowly down after eating a few hard strikes from Valtellini. This was when the domination from the strong Team Ultimate fighter started to shine.
Round 3 continued to be a dominate round for Valtellini. Ambang continued to slow down and looked to be tiring out. Valtellini kept working the leg kicks to the point where you can see Ambang unable to put much weight on his lead leg and his leg dying out. Soon you can see his leg on its last life. This is when Valtellini threw one last axe-like leg kick to chop down his opponent. Ambang couldn’t walk to answer the ref’s count, thus becoming a TKO victory for Team Ultimate’s Joseph Valtellini via leg kick!
This is another huge win for Joseph and it moves him up one spot to #7 on the Glory World Kickboxing Rankings for the welterweight division! Be sure to congratulate him when you see him at the gym!
