Learn the skills and techniques used by champion mixed martial artists and jiu jitsu practitioners while getting a high adrenaline extreme workout. These programs are co-ed and are for all skill levels. No need to worry if you’ve never done anything like this before; we’ll help guide you through all the basics to get you started! There will be no physical striking contact with anyone in these classes. The only physical contact that you have an option to engage in is practising your wrestling, grappling, and jiu jitsu with your training partners. The main equipment that’s recommended to individually have is a mouth guard and protective groin cup. If you don’t have those, we sell them at out front desk for a great price!
MMA (Mixed Martial Arts)
This is the fastest growing sport in the world with the incredible popularity of the UFC where people take elements of a variety of different martial arts and combine them together. Ever wanted to learn the techniques of your favourite UFC fighters? You can with these group classes! This program will teach you effective striking, grappling, submission wrestling, ground-and-pound, submission defenses, take downs, clinch fighting, and other essential aspects of MMA. The classes will take you through pad work, drills, and exercises that’ll benefit the techniques you’ll be learning. You’ll have opportunities to apply all the skills that you’re learning in our safely padded environment with training partners in the classes. While doing all of this, you’ll be getting an amazing workout that’ll challenge your body. Your explosive muscles will be used a lot, which is an area that rarely gets worked on. You’ll start to notice improvements with your overall conditioning, strength, and movement after doing these classes!
Gi Jiu Jitsu (No-Gi optional)
This discipline has been around for many years and started to get its popularity during the early years of the UFC when Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) was dominating the other martial art styles. This program will mainly focus on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu while also taking techniques from other forms of Grappling such as Sambo, Japanese Jiu Jitsu, and Judo. The combination of those additional martial arts will give you a more superior arsenal than with just BJJ alone. You’ll be learning transitions, positioning, leverage, submissions, and submission defense. The classes will take you through drills and exercises that’ll benefit the techniques you’ll be using. You’ll have opportunities to apply all the skills that you’re learning in our safely padded environment with training partners in the classes. The workout you’ll get out of Jiu Jitsu is completely different from striking because of all the grappling involved. You’ll be learning to distribute your energy intelligently and using your hips effectively during transitions. Our classes are Gi classes with the option of No-Gi being taught as well. With people training in Gi, our experienced instructors will be awarding belt levels as you progress. The lesson plan for Gi students will differ from No-Gi.
